03/18/09: Newtec Windows and Doors Pass or Exceed New U-Factor and SHGC Requirements for $1500 Tax Credit Eligibility

Although Newtec has been an Energy Star Partner through years, the new Economic Stimulus Package has more stringent requirements for both U-Factor and SHGC (less than or equal to 0.30). 02/15/09:Newtec Provides Optional Triple Pane Glazed Windows

More window factories and residents are considering triple-glazed windows since the Department of Energy announced potential changes to the Energy Star Windows program. Early this year, President Obama issued a new Economic Stimulus Plan, advocating more stringent U-factor and SHGC (both less than or equal to 0.30) to be eligible up to $1500 tax credit for energy efficient windows.

These numbers would be tough to meet in Northern climates with even the best double-glazed, gas-filled low-E coated glass package. Therefore triple-glazed windows might be one approachable solution. As the name suggests rather than just two panes of glass a third is introduced to greatly further its ability to insulate the home in extremes of cold and reduce solar gain in summer.

Other than the energy saving function, triple pane glazed window significantly reduce the noise by the third pane. Installing these units into properties near major roads or airports can increase the value of the home and provide a far nicer environment for the residents. Condensation resistance can also be dramatically better than using double glazing. UV protection is another add-on to your health and the lifespan of the interior furnishings and finishes. Some customers may concern about the extra weight and cost. This should not be an issue when comparing with long term energy saving, condensation resistance and enhanced living comfort.

Currently, most vinyl window finishes are in solid colors such as beige or white. As a quality window manufacturer using REHAU extrusion, Newtec now provides an option of elegant wood-grain foil finishes when you order Newtec windows. This applies to all 600 and 1400 series windows: double-hung, single-hung, sliders, casements, awning, hoppers and their combinations of picture windows, bow and bay windows and architectural shape. You can choose foil laminate in wood-grain prints or solid colors.
